Where can we find the markers?
Chalk Ink Markers are primarily sold through the Chalk Ink World Store.
What surfaces can you use Chalk Ink on?
Non-Porous Surfaces – surfaces such as glass, ceramic, or metal that have no openings to allow liquid to be absorbed or pass through. Example: plastic, granite, cement, gym floor, concrete floor, counter tops, appliances, stainless steel and glazed ceramic tile, chalkboards, chalkboard wallpaper, chalkboard paper.
What is the difference between Chalk Ink® Wet Wipe pens and Artista Pro pens?
Artista Pro has a waterproof ink and is meant for non porous surfaces such as porcelain chalkboards, glass & most plastics. On these surfaces, the marker can be cleaned off with an ammonia based cleaner such as Windex. On porous surfaces, Artista Pro can be used as a permanent marker.
How about chalk paint?
Chalk paint works best with chalk. That said, may people use Chalk Ink® Wet Wipes on surfaces painted with chalk paint. If you are using chalk paint, make sure your surface is well primed, then paint 2 layers of chalk paint. You will likely need to touch up the chalk paint at some point. Another option is using a semi-gloss house paint. This will provide you a less porous surface to use Chalk Ink® Wet Wipes.
How soon does it dry – how long do you have to blend?
They are water based, so it doesn’t take too long to dry. It also depends on how thick you lay the ink on.
Once a base color is dry, will applying a new color over it, make the dry base flake off?
Chalk Ink® Wet Wipes blend best while wet (see the blending video in our tips section). Artista Pro Markers can be layered once dry.
