Hey Influencers, We See You. And We Want to Send You Stuff!
Okay, so I am going to be honest with you. I am not a natural at this whole influencer outreach thing. I have been doing business for over 25 years and I spent most of that time very happily in the B2B world, selling to Starbucks and REI and Carnival Cruise Lines, and I pretty much left the whole social media game to everyone else. And it was like... fine. We were doing great. But at some point, you look up and realize the world has changed and maybe it is time to actually talk to the people out there who talk to other people. So anyway, here we are.
We Are the Original. And Yes, We Know That Sounds Like Something Everyone Says.
Here's the thing, prior to Chalk Ink ® there was no Chalk Marker category. No Liquid Chalk Markers, No Wet Wipe Markers. I saw something that did not exist yet, and I built it. That was not an accident, that was a decision. We developed the product, figured out the formula, and created an entirely new category from the ground up. And it worked. Now every major art supply brand, every paint company, every craft company out there has their own version of what we started. Which honestly is the most flattering thing that could ever happen to a product, even when it is a little bit maddening. We are not just the original. We are the OG. And I say that with lots of love, and also a very specific amount of competitiveness. Haha. So if you have never heard of us before, hi, hello, welcome!
What we kept, through all of it, was our commitment to staying high-end. Chalk Ink® markers are not the ones you find at the dollar store. They are the ones Keller Williams uses for their open house signs. They are the ones Carnival puts on their deck menus. They write on glass, on chalkboards, on windows, on mirrors, on pretty much any non-porous surface you can think of, and they wipe off clean without drama. That is the short version of 25 years of product obsession.
So Here Is Where You Come In
We have spent two and a half decades building a business on word of mouth and strong retail relationships, and what we have not done nearly enough of is connect directly with the people who would absolutely love what we make. And that is where influencers come in, which again, not a sentence I expected to be writing in my life, but here we are and I am genuinely excited about it.
We are specifically looking for people who create content around art supplies, craft tools, office supplies, or really any of the spaces where our markers show up. Teachers, obviously, because teachers have known about us for a long time and they get it immediately. Online educators who built up huge followings during Covid and kept them going. Artists who are also influencers, which feels like a very 2024 job description but here we are. And here is one that people always underestimate: brewery and bar artists. We love the bar world and the bar world loves us. If you are the person who does the chalkboard menu at your local spot, first of all, thank you, and second of all, call us.
What We Are Actually Offering (No Catch, I Promise)
We want to send you products. Real products, not a tiny sample pack that insults your intelligence. We want you to use Chalk Ink® markers and genuinely see what they can do, and then if you love them, tell your people. Leave us a review on Amazon or our site if you feel so moved. Post to your followers. Share what you made. That is really it. We are not trying to script anything or put words in your mouth. We just want you to experience what we have built and let that speak for itself.
And it is not just markers, which I realize is what everyone pictures when they think of us. We also have this whole line of bags that I am genuinely obsessed with. We have silicone bags that work perfectly for makeup or art tools or anything you need to organize. We have what we call our puffy bags, which are these beautiful, pillowy carryalls that can function as a purse or a work bag or a toy bag or a diaper bag and they are honestly just really nice objects to own. They are the kind of thing where you pull it out and people ask where you got it. So there is more here than just markers, is what I am saying.
We Are Looking for Superfans and I Mean That Genuinely
I have always believed that the best marketing is just connecting the right product with the right person and then getting out of the way. The people who find Chalk Ink® tend to become very enthusiastic about it, and that is not an accident; it is because the product actually works, the colors are genuinely beautiful and there is something satisfying about writing with a marker that does exactly what it is supposed to do every single time. I want more of those people in our world. I want to build a community of folks who love what we make and want to share it.
