It’s Graduation Season and Honestly, We’re Kind of Obsessed
So here’s the thing about this time of year. We roll from the end of April right into May and suddenly everyone you know has a kid graduating from something. High school, college, kindergarten, you name it. And every single year I find myself in the same spot, scrambling to figure out the perfect gift that doesn’t feel like I just grabbed something off a drugstore shelf at the last minute. Haha. I know that feeling. You know that feeling. We all know that feeling.
This year, I’m heading to my dear friend’s house for her daughter’s high school graduation party. I know there will be signs, and there will be markers, and honestly there will probably be at least one thing I make that doesn’t turn out exactly how I pictured in my head. That’s just how it goes. But I’ve been making things with Chalk Ink® markers long enough to know that even the imperfect stuff looks pretty amazing when you’re working with the right tools.
Signs, Windows, and Why Your Grad Deserves a Yard Full of Big Feelings
Here’s what I love about graduation season, specifically when it comes to Chalk Ink® markers. It’s one of those times where going big is not just acceptable but actually the whole point. Giant yard signs. Window art. Little signs around the house. Messages on the car. All of it. Graduation is loud and proud and temporary in the best way possible, and that’s exactly what our markers were made for.
We’re going to be doing some videos to walk through how to use the Chalk Ink® 15mm markers on windows and on a couple of different sign types around the house. The 15mm is our workhorse marker for this kind of project because the tip is wide enough to make big, bold lettering that reads from across a yard but it’s still controllable enough that you can do some actual design work with it. If you’ve never used one before, the first time you write a word on a window with a 15mm and step back to look at it you will genuinely be like, oh, okay, I get it now. And it was like that for a lot of people who discovered us through retail windows and restaurant chalkboard menus and then realized, wait, I can just do this at home too. Yes. You absolutely can.
So anyway, if you’ve got a 2026 graduate in your life, shout them out. And don’t forget to make the sign. Congrats to every single person walking across a stage this season because honestly it’s a lot of work and they earned every bit of it.
Keep an eye on our social media, as we’ll be putting together some graduation decorating ideas. They’ll show our markers in action creating some of the sign techniques that I genuinely think are easier than people expect them to be. We’ll also make sure to show off products from our new line of drinkware + bags that can be used on a daily basis. You don’t have to be an artist. You just have to be willing to try, and the markers do a lot of the heavy lifting.
